Virtual Narcan Training through the Opioid Overdose Prevention Network (OOPN)

This free training is designed to help participants recognize and respond to an opioid overdose and learn how to properly administer Naloxone (Narcan). The session is appropriate for individuals with no prior experience as well as those interested in a refresher. OOPN’s goal is to empower individuals and communities with the knowledge and resources needed to help prevent opioid overdose deaths. https://sites.rutgers.edu/oopn/
During the training, participants will learn:
  • How to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose
  • When and how to administer Naloxone (Narcan)
  • Steps to take while awaiting emergency medical assistance
  • Additional overdose prevention resources and support available in New Jersey
